Will Not Surrender (Our Home)

by Jemma   Oct 28, 2006

Armed with fear
Grim smiles
Cast in stone
Set to chill their hearts
As we shout out our challenge

We who dwell in mountains cold
Live a life with hope
But have no destiny
Just a life with our own choices
We have always managed to get by

They come with banners swaying in the wind
Singing as they fly
They gleam proudly beneath the sun
There’s no dirt upon their faces

We know our terrain
This land knows us
For it smiles upon us
Belonging to each other
You can’t destroy us

You come with guns not cunning
Courage bottled in your bullets

We with painted faces
War cries on our lips
Need no reassurance
Though we be less in number
We have greater trust
We have more power
For we fight for our very heart

Should you now come venture
In the dark alleys of time
And should you come calling
And try to make your claim
You shall have to struggle
And you shall have to run away
With your forsaken pride

We are a people with no mercy for your kin
For you offend us
Belittle us
Steal from us
You come with pompous woes
Yet you have few cares to fret over

Look at what you take
You are but thieves in the cold dark nights

A shadow for the world
We will not sleep
We shall wake and watch
For we will not surrender our home
