When will Daddy be home?

by carrie   Oct 29, 2006

Little freckled face.
Tiny little cheeks.
Itty bitty hands and don't forget the feet.
Sadness in her bright blue eyes.
Holding blanky tight.
Binky in her mouth, but her voice still sounds confused with fright.
She asked you a question that almost makes you cry.
"When will Daddy be home?''
Then she sniffles and tears come to her eyes.
You wipe away her streams.
Kiss her on her head.
"Daddy will be home before you know it."
"Now close your eyes and lets get to bed."

Later on that night.
Crying as you try to fall asleep.
Your little angel comes into your room.
She crawls in next to you.
"Mommy don't you weep."
You feel the warm hug of a little girl.
"Its OK Mommy, Daddy will be home soon."
"Now close your eyes get to sleep."
