Searching for Tomorrow

by Jemma   Oct 29, 2006

Searching for tomorrow
In a steely crystal gaze
He wastes away today
In a hazy purple haze

He sits and jumps a hurdle
Bouncing on bed springs
Laughing merrily
About the strangest of things

He sees no one in his world
Except the girl with emerald eyes
Haunting in their stillness
And the mystery of what in them lies

He's a puzzle left unfinished
For no one sees within
No one sees his virtues
Because he won't let no one in

But each day he sees her
And he searches for his soul
He knows her smile's
The one thing that fills the gaping hole

He glares into his mirror
And enters his dark mind
And there she stands before him
And there's nowhere he can hide
