With a bruise on her face,
Screaming and running at a heart-stopping pace,
Trying to get away from the man that she loves,
the man that once kissed her and hugged her now only punches and shoves,
The one that she loves causes her pain,
she can't walk away and she's going insane,
She loves him so much and knows that deep inside he loves her too,
He's just having some trouble-he's a little confused,
So why does he punch her and slap her around,
never stopping until she is crying-laying on the ground,
He says he is sorry and he didn't mean to lose his head,
She smiles and nods but cries at the words he left unsaid,
he never said he loved her and rarely does,
Only says "me too" when she whispers "i love you" as she gives him a hug,
He used to be protective and caring no matter the place,
Now when someone is out of line he just smiles and laughs in her face,
He treats her like he knows she won't leave,
But what if she did- the where would he be?
She loves him so much and can't walk away,
But he hurts her too much and she really can't stay,
He's her reason to breathe,
She loves him more than he will ever see,
She's got no one else to live for and doesn't know how to make him see,
he's the one that she wants-the one that she needs,
but he can't treat her this way,
and expect her to stay...
