Snapshots

Snap.
Another memory,
frozen in a moment.
Snap.
Another heartache,
captured with a flash.

Moments of happiness,
moments of bliss.
Moments of sadness,
moments of anguish.
They fly by,
in black and white,
and in flurries
of stand-off-sh colors.
Brightness...

All the things
you don\'t want to know
are there,
imprisoned in a sheet of paper,
fixed by putrid chemicals.
It\'s frightening,
how memories can either be
destroyed, or held
in place by a few dashes of
yellow, piss-colored liquid in
the muted light of a darkroom.
Reek.

Burn them, burn the memories.
Destroy the dark,
bring in brightness.
Wash out the bowls
in which your memories were
permanently fixed.
Over expose,
and bring in hope.
No one wants a dark photograph.
