The Grieving Heart

by Twisted Heart   Oct 30, 2006

The hopelessness of love's surrender
Upon the dream of falling stars
Remind your souls that come the winter
To blanket your broken hearts.
Give shelter to the false pretenders
Who seek the solace from afar
To crush your thoughts that are so tender
And leave you with un healing scars.

Inside your minds you try to reason
With your heart that is torn in two
But you stand and cry of treason
That your soul has spun anew.

So harbor hopelessness with care
Inside the thoughts that fill your mind
Take stock of all the pain you bare
When shattered pieces are what you find
With sweet memories try to repair
The ache inside that is unkind
And as you sit in lost despair
Remember you will heal in time.

The last stanza summed it up nicely. And in the first stanza is it supposed to be Reminds (plural)? Just an editing suggestion. Good job...beautiful poem!

Another beautiful piece. This one has some pain/sadness in it though. Wonderful. 5/5
