Perpetuate Word

by Twisted Heart   Oct 30, 2006

In the midst of controversy,
we ask ourselves, Why.
When we listen to our children
they question us, Why.
Transcending in our thoughts
always the need to know
Our curious minds consume
the knowledge, when it flows.

In darkness, we sit in ignorance,
not understanding, why
As slumber captures us in dreams
we always wonder, why
Upon the quest of wisdom
we try to overcome
The distant piece of reality
of what we have become.

Soul seekers of the answers
to all the questions, why
We tend to fight for dignity
as corruption comes to light
Inventions and creations
interventions of the times
Is immortalized forever
in the trappings of our minds.

I liked the content of this very much, at first I thought it had too many "whys" but as I read it over it seemed to be important to the poem.very good.
