Misuse

I walk through the hall
and hear that word
people say it over and over
like it had no meaning at all

such a sacred word
but misused so many times
they say it to people they don't know
they say it to anyone they know

don't they understand how precious
such a word is in this hard life?
Don't they understand how rare
it is to find such a thing so true?

I only can say it when I mean it
When my heart says it feels it
maybe one day people will see
what "love" really means.
