Strangers

by Purple   Oct 31, 2006

We were strangers when we started
And as strangers we shall end
There's no reason to stay joined
To some one who's not your friend
Your face isn't disfigured
And no featured has been de-hanced
It's just I can no long look at you
And with no contact, we stand no chance

I can't trust myself to say a thing
To anyone I care about
There's no way I'd let you inside
No one's aloud to touch my heart

I looked up and I was surprised to see
A blank face staring back
I can't look at that face again
A thing that seems so detached
The thought of you waiting
And caring about my shakes
Seems to frighten me unnaturally
I guess you could say for insanity's sake

Maybe I just respect you
And admire your ability to stay so blank
Maybe I fear that we have a connection
And am avoiding that current before my ship is sank
Maybe I fear the brake
That could occur from neural pressure
Maybe I'm pulling myself back
Before my feet can get wetter

It's natural to fear what you do not know
But how long can you evade the unknown
It's just not normal
To stay locked inside ones home.
