Horrible Ritual

A gut wrenching heave
A red raw throat
An empty stomach
A feeling of satisfaction

A cut here
A bandage there
Another reminder of my pain
The tears that I cannot cry

A tear down my cheek
A black mascara trail
Tears of suffering
A cry for help

Horrible ritual
All too familiar
Does anyone know
What its like to live this way?
