Stray

by Rose   Oct 31, 2006

Do you know, what it\'s like,

To feel alone, every night?

Ask a stray, he will know,

For he has nowhere to call home, or go.

The world denies his every wish,

A sip of water?

A scrap of fish?

But when comes to us for help,

We turn away, and back into our shells.

Who are we to judge his ways?

When we deny him, \'til the end of his days.

He make look ratty, he may seem low,

But you woudn\'l look great,

If you had no home!

He doesn\'t understand when he is wrong,

He can only show feeling by singing his song.

Bruised and mamed, all he seems to be,

But do you not know,

Who he may be?

Born in alleys,

Raised there too,

All he will acheivive,

Is all he will do.

Show some compassion,

Get out of your hole,

Give him a try,

Let him touch your soul.

Be his caretaker,

Be his friend,

And you\'ll become his apprentice,

Until one of you ends.

You don\'t know his story,

Of sorrow and fear,

So keep him at bay,

Keep him near.

Let his house be your house,

Let your things be shared,

And perhaps, intern,

He\'ll slay that pesky mouse

So be open hearted,

Be ready for him,

Let him come to you,

And let him in.

Let him tell you,

Try to see,

That his life is harder,

Then yours may ever be.

Cats will be cats,

No doubt about it,

So next time you see one,

Up \'n out it.
