What She Could've Been

by Raychil   Oct 31, 2006

She was just another name
In the crowd of people who died
She didn't have fame or fortune
But who knows if she'd have tried

There'll be a viewing on Thursday
Her friends will all be crying
And deep inside they wonder how they
Missed the secrets she was hiding

She could've been an actress
She could've owned a nice sports car
She could've been a singer
Or an idolized super star

She could've been an athlete
She could've scored the last point to win
It's not only her they'll miss
But what she could've been

What happened to her life?
Does anybody know?
Was there nothing anyone could say?
To make her not want to go

Her friends say she was happy
That she smiled every day
So, does anyone really understand?
Why she took it all away?

She could've been an actress
She could've owned a nice sports car
She could've been a singer
Or an idolized super star

She could've been an athlete
She could've scored the last point to win
It's not only her they'll miss
But what she could've been

What did she see in her mirror?
That made her fall and cry
Were things getting foggy or clearer?
That made her want to die

She was just another name
A life that barely got to begin
It's not only who she was
But what she could've been

She could've been an actress
She could've owned a nice sports car
She could've been a singer
Or an idolized super star

She could've been an athlete
She could've scored the last point to win
It's not only her they'll miss
But what she could've been

She's just another name, of people who died
She's just another girl, who could've made it if she tried.

I love this. It was beautiful - saddening, yet so close to this reality we live in. I liked the flow and the song-like quality. It was amazing. I know I haven't been here in a while, but you're doing great. Keep it going, you're still talented. Hold on.
