Boys to Men

by sean   Nov 1, 2006

I used to look with eyes of youth upon that yellow flower
To my surprise they mirrored just last hour
In the distance a path I not yet know
For me manhood was always my worst foe
I see now what I despised, i surmised wrongfully
When what we have here is failure to respond willingly
It comes still for all us boys, as we look for our fathers
To beat back this chapter, while ignorant that we were the authors
We grow in a womb and come out crying
Cry to the tomb, we thought we were dying
Yet alive as a man, this none understand
Until that day, in the middle stage, we turn west as the sun fades, during yellow weather
And look upon it with eyes of age, and see that youth, forgotten and forbade forever
