My Confession

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Nov 2, 2006

My everything lies
In the heart of a man,
A man who forgets I exist
One who kissed me a hundred times,
A man who has the softest touch
And the strongest arms
My soul belongs to a man
With the darkest eyes
And the warmest smile
My best friend who hates me
The most precious person
Who can't even look me in the eye
My heart surrenders to
This man everytime
Even though I see his hate
For me in his eyes
This man who no longer yearns
To hear me speak
My confession is about a man
A man who holds my heart
In the palm of his hands
Even though I will never
Be with him again, still,
I find myself surrendering
To his memories, giving in,
Allowing me to love a ghost
A ghost of this man
Whom I will always love
This is my confession
