He thinks he's a superman

by Creatingtime   Nov 2, 2006

He thinks he's a superman,
when he's really just a man
who goes too fast down the highway,
and screams as loud as he can.

He thinks he's a superman,
when he's really just a drunk,
who's not invincible to alcohol,
endangering all his friends, who are sunk.

He thinks he's a superman,
when he's really just getting high
who disregards others who care,
just because he thinks he can fly.

He thinks he's a superman,
when he's really just arrogant,
who can't control his anger,
but thinks he's a modern day Clark Kent.

He thinks he's a superman,
when he's really just a flirt,
who woos every female he's ever met,
and treats her like dirt.

But now he's gone-
The drink was his kyptonight.
But every once in a while we visit his grave,
so we will never forget the times that shaped our lives-
along with all the fights.

For now he's six feet under,
leaving behind an embedded, strange name
but his legacy lives on in our hearts,
tormenting our future, and bringing up forgotten pain.

He thought he was a superman.

So much for superman.
