Drown out your sorrows

by Creatingtime   Nov 2, 2006

Drown out your sorrows in a glass of white wine,
don't bother stopping until you're too numb to see,
Wait for the world to stop spinning so loud,
wait for life to stop changing around me.

Hold onto the support line that is ready to snap,
don't give up holding until there is nothing left to grab,
Believe in the impossible that is ready to end
don't give up believing until there is nothing left to dab.

Paint your nails black, and put on a hat,
pull it over your face, and slide to the ground,
bury your hands in your arms and pull your legs close,
wait for the bell to ring, and don't make a sound.

Wait for the final call in a game lost from the start,
anticipate the worst in a situation people say can't,
keep on running when your legs are screaming to stop,
breathe strongly when you'd rather pant.

And when the shadows tell you to be strong, close your ears,
hide your eyes and head for the corners of your room.
Then open your heart in order to be strong and let it all out,
Or forever be lost in silent doom.
