Autobiography of a seed

by Kavitha   Nov 2, 2006

I was a petite seed
and no one paid any heed

Placed in a nursery
Listen to my story, it is a mixture of glee and tragedy

One day a little girl came by
Hey! I said, can you hear my cry?

I prayed to god to relieve me from here
Will my dream come true was my fear

Suddenly two gentle hands came forward
I wanted to be brave and not a coward

They sowed me in the mud
My friends sun and water gave me the food

I opened my eyes and saw the first sunshine
The world looked pretty and so fine

My life was happy and full of spirits though
I have little clashes sometimes and my friends became foe

I grew up into a tree so brawny
With my leaves so downy

Slowly I began to think that I was useless
And this thought made me restless

One day a group of kids came and swinged on my branch
My fruits were collected for a ranch

Weary travelers rested in my shade
Slowly I began to realize why I was made

If you too feel dejected like me
Take my life as an inspiration for the coming days to be

I suggest you go through this poem and edit the flow and rhyming. The rhyming ... umm... doesn't rhyme at times--- Otherwise this one is really good and is a unique concept! Keep it up!
