Lying next to the man she loves
She feels an overwhelming guilt
For while he works to keep her safe
Another relationship was built

Her friend was to keep her company
It was just some harmless flirting
She didn't mean it to go so far
She can't stand the thought of him hurting

That night he worked late 'til gone twelve
Was all to give them a better life
That was when she slept with her friend
Dug in and twisted the knife

She told herself it was just loneliness
But she knows that\'s really no excuse
She had no will power or self control
She allowed herself to be seduced

She lies awake and watches him sleeping
And her heart constricts with pain
The best thing in her life is jeopardized
And she only had herself to blame ©
