Dying Inside

by RicaLo   Mar 19, 2004

Ever since her cousin raped her
And gave her AIDS
She felt so devastated
As she counted the days.

Her mind was racing
Her heart badly ached
As she tried to contemplate
Why it was her virginity and, ultimately, her life that he had to take.

She suffered for the next ten years
Wondering when she would pass.
Ever since she's been cursed
She knew that she wouldn't last.

When it was time to say goodbye
The only person there
Was her nasty, selfish cousin
stroking his fingers in her hair.

"How has he survived so long
While I'm stuck in this bed
Knowing in a few hours more
I'll soon be dead?"

He said he was sorry for the dirty deed
Even though she knew he lied
But she forgave him anyway
And closed her eyes and died.
