Glistening blade, oh so sharp

Crimson rivers; skin so white
Pain swells in gray cold eyes
Black tears drip down so steady
Leave ashy stains to show I cried

Wounds of the flesh heal in time
Provided they are not too deep
But those of the heart never heal
Those pains, m'dear, never sleep
