Adoption

Adoption

I go through moments
of wondering where I came.
Alot like them
but yet still not the same.

Always knew I was different
nothing I could pin down.
Just a feeling
that I wasn't from around.

Their hair was dark
mine was light.
My skin was brown
their's was white.

Asked them to tell me
if it was true,
all they said was,
"We love you".

Why do I feel so different?
Am I a part of them?
I hear their whispers
saying I'm like him.

Whats the big secret?
I want to know.
Am I wanted
or should I go?

It's not a true story. Unfortunately, I know who my parents are. Sometimes I just like going outside the box and challenging myself with something that I havent ACTUALLY experienced!

    Wow Rebecca...
I don't see a lot of poems that deal with adoption and this one is in a league of it's own..
    Great rhythm as well =)
