Ignorance Is Bliss

by Kara   Nov 4, 2006

There once was a girl who believed all she heard
Even when the subject was blatantly absurd
She was the one that believed every lie
And when things didn't add up she didn't ask why

Many thought she was such a goof
Why didn't she try and decipher the truth
But the only reason they lived was to stay alive
And not even they could answer why

Every morning another meaningless day
Every word another pointless thing to say
Just more reason to race to your death
After that who cares whats left

It just seemed like what they should do
Just a monotonous cycle everyone went through
As for the truth what more could there be
When everyone is content in drowning in hypocrisy

But one day someone told her the truth about why
We wake up every morning just to one day die
But the girl didn't believe this time
She would rather go off and wish on a dime

She saw how people cared for material things
So she rather focus on clothes and rings
And since she didn't believe in the truth
No one else was going to

It would be too much of an embarrassing thing to do
When fake satisfaction came with something new
After all temporary things last a while
And who wants the truth when you enjoy denial
