Broken Clocks

by Daenerys Stormborn   Nov 4, 2006

He who runs never looks to the sun
Until the show is over and the game is won
And there is no time when clocks are broken
Nothing will heal with words left unspoken

So she looks to the sky and she wonders why
The world has gone blind for an eye, for an eye
Everything is maybe because nothing is for sure
But the wings of an angel shine so pure
Shine so pure

Beneath the rocks of the hills lie little creatures
Working in harmony without authority preachers
For in the eyes of a child, all things are still
No dead end streets without a window sill

Records of days when the wheel turned pages
The days of rocks and stones--the Fire Ages
In the blink of an eye, that world blew apart
Only to mend and find a shiny, brand new start

This brave new world has discovered much
How to feel great pain without feeling touch
As the people grow numb to their muted lips
Silence brings an everlasting, dark eclipse
