House of Intermission

by Poetvoices   Nov 4, 2006

Coated in silver, standing straight and tall.
the only one left, not to fall.
Those others who've gone and lost matter not alt all.

A large, scaly figure, at least 50 feet tall,
the color of the leaves in all seasons but fall.
Seeing a tall tree, th bravest of men in the town
climbs up to get an advantage, wrapping his arms around.
Thrusting his sword at the unsuspecting, the dragon soon falls down.

The knight has defeated the giant dragon, but for an empty town!
Where IS everyone?" he wonders as he looks around.
Then a bigger question lingers. "How will I get down?"

That was good, what a creative ending.

"A large, scaly figure, at least 50 feet tall,
the color of the leaves in all seasons but fall."

I love how you did that, it paints such a detailed picture without directly stating that you are talking about a dragon. Not many people can pull that off. Great job.
