Cold Comfort

by x.Athame.x   Nov 4, 2006

Swirling all around me
Pieces of cold, bitter death
Oh, please come to me now
And take away my breath
So long, now have I wished
For you; take me from within
But life doesn't care for me
And death won't let me in
Every time I think I'm close
Death slams its inviting door
But life doesn't want me
No one does, not anymore
Now I am just left longing
For fate to make up its mind
I'm hoping that day is soon
And cold comfort I will find.

This was awesome. Excellent choice of words and it had a good flow. I love the way it ended, especially the last line. Great job.

Perhaps, what I meant to say was: Although it was short, it spoke volumes.
