What would I give to take back that white lie?

by ~AliceInWonderland~   Nov 5, 2006

Lie to me now,
Lie to me later,
But one of these days,
This lie will matter.

You don't know it now,
You may not recognize it then,
But God only knows why,
He took you at age ten.

I weep for our loss,
I cry for your happiness,
But why I keep asking,
Why were you a mess.

Questions upon questions,
The answers we may never know,
But boy if I had one more day,
How great of love I would show.

One simple lie,
One lie on a test,
If only I knew,
This day wasn't like the rest.

What would I give to take back that white lie?
