The Dark

Can you possibly imagine,
A life without light?
To live in a world of darkness?
It would be a disturbing place, indeed.
Dark and cold,
No place at all
For the happy and joyous and bright,
How would you enjoy each day,
If day was no different than night?
How would you paint a picture
If the darkness covered the color,
Threw a blanket of bore over the hues,
And destroyed the meaning of the painting,
Damaged the purpose of the art?
Imagine a dark grey storm cloud
Soaring through the sky
And coming to a stop in front of the sun,
And suddenly, the world is dark,
The birds stop their chirping,
The water in the creek stops its flowing,
The children stop their singing,
And if possible,
Imagine that the world lost all of its lust
And all the interest and joy in the world
Disappeared with the light.
What a horrifying picture!
Is your mind not beginning to shiver?
Are goose bumps rising up your skin?
It is a gruesome image indeed.
So be thankful for the colors,
Be thankful for the lust,
Be thankful for the happiness,
Be thankful for the light.

A day without light seems hopeless. but the darkness is always there...they balance each other out.
