In Unison to Peace

by alka mendiratta   Nov 7, 2006

The sun shines every morning
Bringing with it a ray of hope
This day I will be my best
Is the promise I make to myself

Days come and pass by
The stream of life sails
From our mistakes we realize
To make improvements every day

No agitations,no restlessness
Giving space to near and dear
Not to be reactive
Not to be judgmental

God,guide me to the path
To tread and reach the Supreme goal
Give me the intellect
To discriminate the right and the wrong

Let me act in such a way
To spread happiness on my way
To uplift the downtrodden
To boost the spirits of those feeling low

Each moment I should count my blessings
Also thank Him for the inflicted pain
That enhances me to grow
With peace at my core

BEAUTIFUL! I loved this poem. You have done an excellent job. I love the wonderful message that you convey in this piece also. The flow was lovely and the fact that it's a free verse makes it even more excellent. I have a few suggestions though. In the fourth stanza, last line you wrote:

To discriminate the right and the wrong

I think that instead of using the word discriminate you should have used the word Separate. I think it sounds better.

    Also in the fifth stanza:

Let me act in such a way
To spread happiness on my way
    To uplift the downtrodden
To boost the spirits of those feeling low

I think that you could have done without using the word To in the beginning of each line. besides those two suggestions I think that you have done an excellent job hun. 5/.5 You deserve it and more. Keep up the wonderful work!

    Love
    Letty

P.S. I hope that I'll be seeing a new one from you soon.
