Chapter of Happiness

Why do we give all of our heart to someone when in the end
It is always the same, always a repeat of what happened in the past?
Why do we allow ourselves to fall head over heels for someone new
When time after time the feelings shared do not last?

Humans are mysterious creatures. They can make mistakes
Over and over again and never learn from them.
They can hurt themselves and think nothing will ever be better.
Sometimes they hurt themselves so much they die from within.

Perhaps they are not mysterious. Are they just trying
To find the chapter in their life that will bring a smile to their face?
Are they listening to their heart, trying to find something that is right for them,
Possibly looking for a safe environment, for that one special place.

I am human. I, unfortunately am a prisoner of this thing we call love.
I also am a prisoner of the pain that follows love around.
I have experienced the sensation of heartache. I have experienced what I believed to be love
But then I realized it wasn't when I was picking myself up off the ground.

Through this evil cycle of love, heartbreak, and loneliness
I have found you. Something about you jumped out of the crowd and caught my eye.
I cant help myself. I don't know if its human nature, but I have to have you now.
The feelings I have for you I have to share, from you I cannot hide.

At this point in time I think this is my chapter of happiness.
I don't see how someone as amazing as you could ever break my heart.
But still in the back of my mind I am getting ready for the end
Because everything thing thats ever been good for me has always fallen apart.

You are my greatest chapter, the best thing I could have in my book of life.
If I was the Beast you would be that magical living, red rose
That gives the Beast a chance of hope, gives him a reason to go on
But unfortunately, my love, every chapter comes to a close.

Nothing in this world could possibly explain what I feel for you.
I want to be with you until the end, until the last tear is shed
When is the end? Could anyone possible know? Ill be with you till then.
Ill be with you until the picture perfect image of you and I is dead.
