Enduring Loss

A stream of pain runs through me
a thrush of emotions, built up for months
bursts forth with a force so bold,
so full of velocity that my heart explodes
that my very life's effort is lost

I've lost my love, my future
I saw him walk right out of my world
I let him leave me,
not stopping him as my heart suggested
but allowing my love to say good-bye

Now I sit here dying inside
bleeding, weeping with loss,
loss of heart, loss of willingness to live
but I must move on-
no matter how painful or hard
I must be strong and survive
my everlasting anguish.

Although Ive given up everything I worked to keep
I will keep living, I will keep enduring
because of you my baby,
I will move on!
