At Deaths Door

by Rose   Nov 8, 2006

Darkness overshadows the light
as he walked in silence covered with contusions
Confidently poised
Doors beside him
Doors in front of him
Doors behind him.
Out of nowhere music from a cabaret plays
So many doors
So many opportunities lie ahead

He was a pessimist
A conviction of demons
They say he was psycho
That was just faux sermon
Every day was a dose of faux affliction

A black door was spotted right ahead of him.
It was different...unique.
He rapidly ran to it.
Placed his pale hand slowly and gently on the doorknob.
The door creaked open
It was an empty room
No windows.
..nothing...
He walked in
Sat at a corner and closed his eyes

..nothing but silence...

I loved the first two stanzas, but the last was a little too narrative for me... but the first ones were definitley impressive and artistic, I like them alot... I'd like the whole poem more if you continued the same style throughout the whole thing... but that's just my opinion :D
