My World

by Avrii Monrielle   Nov 8, 2006

Of laughter
Of joy
Of darkness and sadness
Hope and compassion

Dreams like butterflies
That fly away if you don't catch them
That flutter about and maybe land on your skin

The world that lies deep
Within my existence

A world to shut the hated out
Keep beloved in
And have myself scared to death

Laughing at myself
And running back
To here

Paper flowers
Invisible ink
Sighing
Breathing in my world

Of color
Of anger
Of gluttony
Of time

Of freedom
Of chimes and bells
Of fifth grade
Of tears

Drowning in my world
Like a turkey in the rain
