I'm Still Alive

by Krista   Nov 8, 2006

Smoke swirls above my head
The heat of the blaze puts me in a trance
I hear some screams. People yelling
I'm still alive.

The sound of glass shattering fills my ears
The lethal weapon destroyed.
People laying down, covered in their friends blood.
I'm still alive.

The water is rising fast
The flood is nearing
Im yelling for my family. No Response.
I'm still alive

The sound of metal clashing.
I hear the sirens wailing.
My head on the steering wheel, Im resting quietly
I'm still alive.

I actually wrote this poem in about 5 minutes.

I heard someone say sometthing about accidents and words just started running from my mind...My friends said I should have posted it on poetry.com, but I didn't think it was good enough. :)

Wow! That is an excellent poem, krista! I mean, a really unique perspective. And it's a subject i haven't seen before. Great job! :) 5/5 for sure!
