Angel

by Tamsin   Nov 9, 2006

Your whole life I've been watching you
Tears brimming in my eyes
You started pure and innocent
Naive to this world's lies

You were so young and beautiful
Perfect in every way
With my love you were growing strong
You would do great things someday

But I got too complacent
And soon your life went down
Through a darkened haze I watched you
As you began to drown

My poor little angel
I cannot dry your tears
I wish I could make it better
But I can't take back those years.

You lie curled up in the darkness
Your wings black and torn
I am helpless I can do nothing
Except watch you as you mourn

Slowly you turn to face me
Tears falling from your blue eyes
I catch a glimpse of that innocent child
Broken by hate and lies

I'm so sorry my fallen angel
I saw you but I denied
It was only when you fell silent
I knew you had died inside.

That is a beautifully written poem. i love it. someone said thats how they felt about me. They watched me fall and now wish that they could have done something. it brought tears to my eyes because i know what it feels like...keep writing! Thanks for the comment earlier also.

The biggest compliment for my work is for someone to say: your work has brought a tear to my eyes.
What you wrote was beautifull,.. and it has brought a tear to my eye.
    i would've given you a 6,.. but you'll have to settle for a 5
