Speak

by Weeping Wolf   Nov 9, 2006

The words drain from this pen
it falters...lifted just above the paper
the thoughts torn from the inspiration
your speech seems to have run dry
for I listen...and wait...and listen...
but silence consumes all you need to say
and doubt envelopes all i need to hear
and I still listen...but no response.

Oh I cry out but there is no reply
and your no longer here by my side
coldness surrounds me as I shiver
But you do not speak, not even a whisper
I just want to understand, to know
So I can feel loved and not so alone.

But something keeps me holding on...
holding on to things said, things unseen
That you still care and you still love me.

Drowning...drowning
in waters so deep
why don't you please
just speak?

The things you could have said-
an empty pause.
the useless tears that were shed-
a lost cause.

Oh I cry out but there is no reply
and your no longer here by my side
But I hold on to things said and unseen
that you still care and you love me.

Drowning...
in waters deep
can't you please
just speak...
just speak to me.
