Its dark I can only hear myself breathing
And feel my heart beating then it blanks
And I see a white light so blinding
I have no idea what's happening
Everything's a blur but wait, now it's fading
And now I can see what's bound to occur
I see a family so loving
I squint a little more and see a child running
I rub my eyes because I see that the child is me
I slowly start stepping closer... Could this really be?
I see myself running to my mom and dad
My parents had smiles and looked so glad
The day was soon to die
We went home and in my bed I lied
I could hear my parents getting ready for the night
It was a day that felt so right
But just as I was getting ready for bed
My parents' door slammed
And I heard words better left unsaid
Then I suddenly woke up, to a reminder of that mark
I look around but everything is dark
I can only hear my self breathe and my heart beat
So I pull the covers over me
I closed my eyes and wiped them
until I silently fell deep, deep asleep.
