The Journey Continues

by robin milford   Nov 10, 2006

I take my medicine
and try to do as my therapist says.
I try to relax
and take it easy,
not slipping over the edge.
I try not to absorb
the world's poison
but I am a poison sponge,
it seems.
I try to stop making
mountains out of molehills.
But every time I think I got it down
depression rears it's ugly head.
Here I go again
with this continuous battle
fight after fight, day after day.
Sometimes I want to give up
but then my children come to me, those two smiling faces
then I know I am truly loved.
Then I am ready for battle again.
