The lightning

by Lindsey Anderson   Nov 10, 2006

Lightning strikes as I stare out the window
I can't pull myself away
All I do is think of you
And how you make my day

The way you smile
The way your lips move when you talk
The way your laugh lights up my face
The way you look when you walk

You see, you're the lightning
And I'm the harmless victim
And even though you struck my heart
I'm not yet done kickin'

No matter what I do
No matter what I try
I'll always keep starring out that window
Because of you I'm mesmerized

I want to be your thunder
For you I will always roar
Maybe one of these days
You and I can soar

But until that day
I'll shed these tears on my pillow
And keep starring at the lightning
That catches my eye through the window
