Maze. (edited)

I'm trapped in a maze of my own making,
Distances away,
And safely false.
There are twists and turns,
Bends and breaks.
It will kill you before you blink,
Follow me,
And I will take to destruction's brink.
Its realm is close to here,
And can be visited by mortals.
Don't step on mushrooms,
Or into waiting portals.
I warn you of the judgemental,
And the overly complimental.
Mind your footing,
It's jagged there,
Don't trust the signs that read beware.
The closer we get to achieving our goal
Makes the maze more wary.
