The Retired Head

by John   Nov 11, 2006

Did you hear about the Head of twenty five years
Who retired from his school and began to wear flares?

He has studs and an earring and dresses so punk
People might think he was blind steaming drunk.

I have a new life now, he told Richard and Judy
I'm at home writing songs now and never moody

I felt too restricted with a life full of rules
I like wearing the things which were banned from the schools

My daughter's my friend now, my students - my mates
And I stand with the parents at the school gates

I did my time teaching. I did my bit.
All I want now is a pop single hit

So come on you teachers, you bank clerks and nurses
Forget about mortgages and filling your purses !

Live life to the full and follow old dreams
The life you have now is not what it seems !
