Black as Velvet Kissed the Moonlight

by Elizabeth Ann   Nov 12, 2006

A path is crossed upon the rooftops, where here and there the living shadows lurk. A passerby has looked and known then only ever knew them, the dark as thriving velvet. Those obsessed who only glimpsed its seduction rave, maddened by a desperate futility.

A bridge has collapsed, once upon a time. A surface wreathed in civilization waned and there our denizens walked. I see everywhere their faces framed in envy, bent by lust long lost. And those remembered burn.

Our factions merge entwined, lured by ruthless intrigue in this golden twilight.
