Dream a Dream

Salute a soldier who wins his fight
Bow down to his armor for it went through that bloody night
Take Pride in the Moonlight when it shines on your face
For your next store neighbor is crying with disgrace

Hold solemnly your heart, when it bleeds on your shoulder
Keep the pain in, they told us, it will make you grow older.

When a young child so sharply catches your eye,
keep your watch silent, quiet, without lies.

When a bruised lady is grasping your hand,
Don't cry for her, Cry with her, and tell her "god's plan".

If it's all just my memory
A caption in the wind
If it's all just a photograph
And Mary really sinned

Then...

Still hold your head to the high road
Still Pack your bags full
Still Live every moment
Because it's ending, it's chronic

Still Take it gallon by gallon
And listen like a song bird
Still Whisper that I'm the best thing, ever heard,
Just to see another smile curve...

What if,

In the end of our Dreams,

We learn, that they were real,

And in the end of our life, we learn that life was fake...

But it doesn't change the fact.
That in those nightmares one was terrified.
And in life one was depressed.
Feelings are feelings,
Pain is Pain,
And contemplating whether it is or not,
Is Torture itself,
Live a dream.
Dream a life.
Live the seldom happy moments,
That we get handed.

Wow this is amazing.. Everything you have said in this poem is so meaningful. I don't know if what I understood out of was intended or not, but to me it seems quite deep, and tells a real message... One of the best poems I've read for a long time... Keep it up 5/5
