The Good Things In Life

When I want to break down and cry
Instead I will smile
Because I know the good outweighs the bad
And it will all be worthwhile.

When it seems I no longer want to live
I stop and I think
because I know I have so much more to give.

When it seems I am all alone
I take a look around me
At the friends I call my own.

When nothing is going right
I take a step back
Out of the dark and into the light.

When I feel everyone is against me
I remind myself about the people that care
and all the people that would die for me.

When I feel all I am surrounded by is strife
I breathe deeply and
Remind myself why I love my life.

I love it because I have my family
And my friends and
I'm really scared for it to end.

I love it because every day
I get to see my little sister and
I can't wait to watch her grow each day.

I love it because of the one I truly love
I pray we'll never be apart and
we'll go together to heaven above.

I love it for the little things-
A stranger's smile, a sunny sky
The times when you DON'T have to say goodbye.

A small laugh and a funny joke
The time I had a food fight
with potatoes and coke.

A simple gesture, a simple word
Knowing that you've really been heard.

Life is a precious gift that so many waste
it isn't like a Christmas gift
where you can give it back after a sample taste.

So many give it up when things get rough
Instead of continuing to fight
They make the wrong choice instead
Of doing what's right.

This is what everyone should remember-because I know I always will:
the good outweighs the bad
you just have to carry on, and have strong will.
