Mixed Messages

You smiled at me
And held my hand,
Made me believe
You were the man.
The one who loved
Me for myself
With compassion for all
The sorrow I felt.
But now you ignore me,
Shove me out the door,
I try and try to catch your eye,
But you never look anymore.
I can't imagine why
You don't see my pain
As I cry inside,
Forgotten and betrayed.
I wish you'd decide,
Make up your mind,
Do you care or not?
Have you left me behind?
Let me move on
Or stop rejecting
All the love
You keep projecting.
It maddens me,
Each time I'm nearby,
You're with someone better
And my presence is denied.
But occasionally
When we are alone,
Your momentary embrace
Imprints on my soul.
Confusion has settled,
This torturous existence
Has left me on the edge
Of withdrawal and persistence.
This pain is never ending,
Continued by your bliss.
Anything is better
Than this empty loneliness.

That is so sad! But the emotion was REALLY VERY TOUCHING. The words flowed so well, you know me, I'll give you a 5/5 for that one. . . though you deserve a 6/5!!!
