The first death I experienced!

by Jo   Mar 20, 2004

I remember your friendly smile,
Welcoming me into your home,
You would chat to us and take us out to plays,
Teach us to sing is a beautiful way,

You would spend time with us and teach us to your best,
You would make us smile, joke.
When we had a note out of place, you would smile and teach us to sing it right,

I remember that day when I heard of your stroke,
I was so shocked I didn't know what to do,
I prayed you would get better I truly did,
Then I went on holiday, when I came back my mum told me the news,
You had died, in a hospital bed.

I missed you funeral, that is something I will always regret,
I dint think I could believe that you were truly dead,

I got my Bishops award, just before it was to late,
That was thanks to you, not me you taught me so well,
It is a tribute to you that we all got those medals,
I know you were there when I went up to the bishop,
I hope you were as proud as I was that day,

I will never forget your face Mr Farrow,
Your the first person i ever knew that died,
But you changed my voice from a croak to a song,
I remember your head, just the top over the huge organ, guiding us to make a beautiful noise, that I know was never wrong.
Thank you for teaching me about singing and song,
I will always miss you but I know your spirit lives on.

-this is dedicated to Bob Farrow a choir master, and a wonderfully person who has sadly left this world for the next.
