A Thousand Miles

by John   Nov 14, 2006

A voice like a tinkling stream says "I don't know."
Laughter and smiles from a thousand miles -I love her so
Without my mobile and its personal touch
I'd fail to enjoy life half as much
Listening for the distinct sound of music tinkling
As a message travels in an inkling
A message so sweet, tender and true
My darling my darling, it's coming from you
You tell me your plans and your workload today
Although you live many miles away
You send to a person who reads it and smiles
It's hard to believe it's a thousand miles
To an Englishman sitting at his PC
Or perhaps in the kitchen making tea
He smiles as he hears it and presses to look
And smiles even more as it starts off with Cmuk!
