Have you ever felt
As though you want to go back
Go back and redo something
Whether it was something done
Or something left undone
Relive that very moment
When your world at you knew it
Completely changed forever
To an extent where
It would never be the same again
I know everything happens for a reason
And you should never live with regret
Yet I constantly find myself
Wishing and longing to go back
Before she left to be with God
I just feel empty inside
Knowing I hid in my room
While she was downstairs dying
Only coming out to see her
When she was already gone
Never getting to say "I love you"
Or wish her a final "Happy Mother's Day"
Or one last "goodbye"
The pain is so strong
For I know it's my own doing
No one forced me to stay away
But I chose to hide
From the unbearable truth
That she was soon going to leave
To be in a better place with God
I can't seem to live with myself
Knowing that I did this
Thus you have my one regret
