Peter Pan

(entered in a contest of your fav. disney movie.)

Adventurous Wendy and two little boys
Living excitement through stories and plays
Never knowing of the boy in the dark
Watching from the light of the window bay

Then one night this mysterious young boy
Lost his shadow in the playroom of three
His fairy friend, Tinkerbell, was sent to find it
And though she did, could not set it free

And he made such a ruckus wrestling it down
He awoke the beautiful Wendy child
She sewed it back on with the least of pain,
But Tinkerbell didn't like her happy smile

Still Peter Pan, offered to take them away
To a place where rules did not apply
And seeing as Wendy was growing up fast
This was a chance that she couldn't deny

The boys had no problems with mermaids,
Lost boys, pirates, and a life free from warnings
So with pixie dust and happy thoughts
It was second star to the right and no stops till morning

Once there, it was full of excitement and fun
With Hook and Smee always ready to fight.
There was constant playing and childish games
The Lost Boys loved Wendy's stories at night.

But once Hook trapped Tinkerbell in his case,
And soon the Lost Boys, Wendy, and her brothers.
Peter Pan was soon to free them all and escape
And he tied up all the rascally others.

And Hook met up with his alligator friend
With a tick and a tock in his belly and eyes
That's what he got for messing with Peter Pan
Once again, Hook was left without his prize.

And Wendy knew for sure it was time to leave.
Her father and mother would miss them so.
And Peter Pan was so upset that she'd be gone,
But understood her deep desire to go.

For some children would need a Neverland,
Where growing up was merely a game,
But Wendy and her brothers craved a life
Where one day they'd make their own names,

So, on the pirate ship they flew over the town
And safely back to their own playroom,
Said goodbye to Peter Pan and Tinkerbell
Knowing on a normal life they'd resume.

And a for the few years left of childhood
They'd catch a glimpse of a shadow on the wall
And knowing inside exactly who it was
But turning to see no one at all
