Hear the rain fall outside.

by Vonnie McHugh   Nov 16, 2006

Dull dark mornings are ahead,
You wake up but you don't want to get out of bed,
All snuggled up warm beneath the sheets,
Listening to the rain drop on the street.

Out the bed you try to creep,
Wish you could just go back to sleep,
Tip toe down the stairs brrr!its cold,
Cup of tea it might console.

Out the window you dare to peep,
Children splashing in the puddles deep,
You know you have to venture out,
This is a fact without a doubt.

You wrap up warm against the cold,
Come on now lets be bold,
Out into the rain you go,
Thinking well at least it isn't snow.

Raindrops on your head they drop,
You wish that this rain would stop!
But in the sky the clouds are Grey,
You know that this rain is here for the day.
