I am better

by Tricia   Nov 16, 2006

Apparently you don't know the trouble you have caused.
Seems you have no idea how I turned out.
Do you not see what makes me myself?
As long as I can remember you have been supportive.
For when I turned sixteen I had a life of my own.
I can tell though that you want me alone.
You have been jealous of me for years.
Whenever I got a new boyfriend you go jealous.
By not being pregnant I was better then you.
That was something you couldn't bear.
A daughter being better is so very wrong.
You wanted to be better than me.
So you wouldn't be the bad one.
At the age of seventeen I am better.
I refuse to screw up.
Not that I won't make mistakes from time to time.
But I will become very successful anyway.
Just because I'm in love doesn't mean I messed up.
Please don't be jealous anymore.
I love you with all my heart.
But I will be better than you.
Never will I become an alcoholic.
I refuse to be a mother at an early age.
Going to college is my dream.
Quit waiting for me to screw up.
Because I am better than you.
